'우는 바다＇ 는 작가가 직접 수거한 제주 바다의 해양쓰레기를 전시장 바닥에 설치하고, 관람객이 그 폐기물들을 밟고 걸으며 내는 소리를 통해 만들어지는 인터랙티브 사운드 설치작품이다. 바닥을 밟으며 걸을 때마다 나는 소리는 실시간으로 마이크와 컴퓨터, 스피커를 거쳐 왜곡 증폭 변형된 기괴한 소리로 방안을 채운다. 관람객은 인간에 의해 바다에 버려진 쓰레기를 위를 걸으며, 그것이 찌그러지며 나는 실재의 소리와 컴퓨터를 통해 가공된 가상의 소리가 뒤섞인 공간 속에서, 마치 몸으로 ‘바다의 울음소리’를 듣는 듯한 체험을 하게 된다.

<Crying Sea> is an interactive sound installation which is created by visitors walking on ocean wastes from the Jeju sea displayed on the floor of the exhibition hall. The sound created by the footsteps fills the room by being distorted and amplified into strange sounds through a microphone, computer, and speakers. Visitors experience the sea crying of their steps alongside the distorted sounds.
